Spring Fling '08 Golf & Fitness Weekend In Lake Charles, LA

L'auberge du Lac Casino Resort Serves Up Golf, Fitness & the World Pillow Fighting Championship

Thirty beautiful models from all over the country converged on Lake Charles, Louisiana on May 29 to June 2 at L'auberge du Lac Casino Resort and Contraband Bayou Golf Course for Spring Fling '08 Gof and Fitness Classic Weekend.

The event was also attended by top NFL stars from around the country and filmed for ESPN by Mandt Bros. Production. Everyone was greeted at a Welcoming Party at Jack Dainiel's Bar and Grill on Saturday night. Sunday's events included a swimsuit competition followed by a Fitness Contest that included a Kayak Race and the World Bikini Pillow Fighting Championships at Nieve Beach, the resorts spectacular pool area and winding river. The crowd was entertained by the Veselka Twins, Kristin and Cory, who also assisted Marcello Pimentel in MC dutites. That evening under the stars was a poolside dinner and Pairings Party for the next day's golf tournament.

On Monday morning, 160 golfers took to the links in a Golf Scramble Tournament at the Contraband Bayou Golf Course. Participating in the golf tournament were Shane Mosely and Amboi Okoye of the Houston, Texans, Donte Stallworth and Syndric Steptoe of the Cleveland Browns, and Ian Greengross, NFL Agent. The enitre weekend was videotaped by Mandt Bros. Production for ESPN, and hosted by Stallworth, all-pro wide reciever for the Cleveland Browns and Akin Ayodele, all-pro linebacker for the Miami Dolphins. "The golf course is spectacular," said Ayodele, who played 18 holes on Sunday. The Contraband Bayou course, designed by Tom Fazio, compliments the marsh lowland features of the natural Louisiana environment to enhance the unique 7,000 yard, par- 71 championship golf course. A combination of aquatic and natural vegetation on the edges of eight spectacular lakes challenged the golfers at all skill levels. Making brief appearances throughout the weekend were Mario Williams of the Houston, Texans and Joseph Addai of the Indianapolis Colts.

Emily Fennet, Special Event Coordinator for L'Auberge served as the Director of the Weekend. "I have done hundreds of event all over the world," said Roy Hahn, president of PlayerXT, "and I have never seen a more organized weekend. Everyone had the greatest time. Emily did such a fine job."

The Veselka Twins, Cori and Kristin provided entertainment for the weekend performing at the Pool Party and Swimsuit Competition at Neive Beach and at the Awards Ceremony at Contraband Bayou Golf Course. The multi-talented twins from Wisconsin write their own song and do their own dance choreography. The are combination of pop, hip hop and country. Their special rendition of Red Neck Woman was a real treat.
